West Virginia Bound

While most people will be going to the Land O Sky Show next week, I am taking a different route. Many of my customers that show every year at the West Virginia State Championship have requested my presence at the show and this year – I feel froggy! On a show that some folks say is better than the Celebration when it comes to chain racking horses, I can say I’m really excited about attending this show!

Since I’m going to be in the area for a few days, I am trying to help offset some cost by booking some barn sessions or private shoots. These will be scheduled for early morning when the light is best. I’m waiving all travel fees including hotel and mileage charges and I’m offering special rates depending on the interest and number of horses that get put on the list.
The available times for sessions right now are Friday, July 10th in the morning, Saturday, July 11th in the morning, and Sunday, July 12th, both morning and afternoon.

If you live within the Logan, Danville, or other Southwestern part of West Virginia and have entertained the idea of having a pro photographer out at your barn to photograph your horses, then there is no time like the present! It’s not as hard as you think! I will walk you through what you need to do! You will be amazed at how fun it is and the results will meet or exceed your expectations! Just contact me if you are interested. My sessions are limited so don’t procrastinate!

Dungannon Moments

June has been extremely busy for me. Just yesterday, I swore it was still the first week of June. I can not believe it’s now July and the fourth is coming up!! I have been a bad girl, again, when it comes to keeping up with the blog but in the busy season and silly email issues, time got away from me. The best thing about not having a horse show for the holiday weekend is it gives me a chance to catch up on all the shows and give away some more free photos! Starting today, I am backtracking all the horse shows I have done since the candids at Dungannon and picking out some of my favorites from Tazewell, Olive Hill, White Pine, and Chestnut Hill. I’ve also got that $500 gift certificate to give away! The winner for that will be announced Monday, July 6th on the blog!

Now…winding back to Dungannon, here are some of my favorite shots. It was a leisure weekend for me. My friend Kim Angel served as official photographer so it gave me a chance to enjoy a horse show. I don’t get to relax like that often!

At Dungannon, there was a very special party for one of my customers. Brenda Tedder's son, Preston, graduated this year and celebrated at the horse show with good food, cake, and all his horse show friends. Preston rides the Walking Horse 'Watts Up'. Below is a photo of the two waiting on the results in the men's class. After the party photos, look for more scenes from the horse show!

Brenda, Preston's mom, cooking hot dogs on the grill!

Shea Sproles and Kim Arnold enjoy the show!

Catilin Winburn was all smiles on Your the Man while fellow barn mate Timi enjoys from the rail!

Keith Ailshie step into the frame as Nathan Britt comes around for his victory pass o Figgy Puddin . This was unique because Keith was out of focus. Images like this tend to catch my eye the most.

He was just too cute!

Another young rider from the Asbury Stables. He went on to win the class. This team had the show ring presence!

Haley comes around the turn in the juvenile racking class.

Just something random.

I do not know the horse or rider but I loved the way this shot turned out.

Danielle Ricker and Heartattack's Fast Beat on their way out of the show ring.

Is that Abby smiling? I believe it is!

Paul and Julia Livingston took honors in the Walking Horse Championship with Irresistible Cash. Ole Cash was looking for the horse whinnie he heard. Hmm???
